The short 3 week course will enable learners to study life drawing and painting in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The tutor will guide you to draw and paint the body shape and its proportions and develop your style in your chosen medium. Other subjects covered include materials, composition and painting techniques. Learners will be encouraged to use a variety of materials: charcoal, pastel, acrylics, ink, etc. Teaching is on a class and one to one basis. There will be an unclothed life model.

Learners will need to supply their own materials, eg drawing materials and paints of their choice.Suggested materials for Learners working with drawing include cartridge paper (suggested size no smaller than A2) a variety of pencils, charcoal, coloured pastels and rubbers.Learners working with painting will need to supply a canvas or board to paint on (suggested size no smaller than A2). Learners will also need to supply a variety of brushes ( suggested sizes. Maximum 50mm to fine 2mm) and assorted colours of paint in the medium of their choice ( oil or acrylic). Colours suggested for a minimum palette consist of white, ultramarine blue, Prussian blue, cadmium yellow, lemon yellow, cadmium red, vermillion red, raw sienna and burnt sienna.Learners working with oil paint will need to supply turpentine or white sprit for thinning paint and cleaning brushes.
