Life Drawing

UPDATED 20160712 11:12:47

Ten week drawing course (ten, two hour lessons) investigating various approaches to Life Drawing. Lessons will take the form of a mixture of short drawing exercises (to explore a variety of drawing strategies), some brief discussions about artists' drawings (to consider other approaches to drawing and to provide a broader context for individual practice) and longer drawings to allow for individually focussed teaching/learning. Students need to be aware that models will be unclothed., , The course is held in an art room which used to be 'the life room' in the days when this wonderful Art Deco-style building was an art college (from the 1930s until the 1960s). It is fully equipped with various sized drawing boards, easels, trestles and 'donkeys' to allow students to draw at a standing position or sitting. Art materials can be purchased at the class. Students with previous experience with drawing as well as beginners are welcome and catered for. These classes will typically include people with various levels of previous experience and ambitions for their drawing. A typical mix of students will include: practicing artists, complete beginners, students building portfolios and people who haven't drawn for some time and want "to get back into drawing again" and build their confidence with drawing. , , , ,
