After the collapse of Roman imperial rule Anglo-Saxon settlers gradually replaced Britain's Romano-Celtic population and eventually formed a country which they identified as England under the rule of a single king., This course will study this process up to the time when the Normans replaced the Anglos-Saxons as the ruling dynasty and will describe the key stages and events. , The course will also examine the extent to which the country was unified and its relationships with other nations all round. Anyone interested in the early history and life of Kent and in the Roman period.
