On this course you will design and make a stitched fabric hat. Choose from several styles - bucket hat, cloche hat, peaked cap or simple beanie. You will learn the correct name for parts of the hat, how to adapt the pattern to your measurements, cutting and fitting and how to add wadding, stiffener or interfacing and assemble the pieces before lining and finishing. You could upcycle an old garment, jumper or blanket or treat yourself to a metre of your favourite fabric! The class is suitable for beginners and improvers, from those who are completely new to the subject, to those with some experience who want to increase their range of techniques and skills.
