This class is an introduction to the traditional Indonesian wax resist technique of batik. Learn how to create an original artwork using specialist tools to apply hot wax to fabric combined with painting and dyeing techniques. You could use the technique to create a textile design that could be made into a wall hanging, cushion cover or garment panel. The class is suitable for beginners, from those who are completely new to the subject, to those with some experience who want to increase their range of techniques and skills. The main focus will be on introducing a variety of techniques at beginner level.
