A one day introduction to oil painting, where you will learn some basic techniques of the medium. You will begin with some medium-based exercises, before progressing to make a small painting. Reference will also be made to the work of other artists as appropriate., , By the end of the course you should be able to:, Produce a series of simple studies using oil paint., Make a preliminary drawing to establish a composition., Select and use the appropriate brushes and materials., Mix colours using basic colour theory., Work to health and safety guidelines., , There is no homework requirement for this course.
