On this course you will learn how to draw flowers successfully and confidently in a variety of exciting ways, then turn your drawings into unique paintings using watercolour and acrylic paints in traditional or contemporary styles. You can have a go at experimenting with different drawing and painting techniques to create stunning works of art and build up a sketchbook of ideas to enhance your skills and as a reference for further study. You will make a colour wheel and learn how to apply this knowledge when mixing paint., , By the end of the course you will be able to: , -draw flowers, leaves and foliage using pencil, charcoal and pen;, -create a colour wheel and apply the information gained;, -sketch flowers and foliage and use these to compile a sketchbook;, -paint a botanical painting using observational skills., , Homework is not a requirement, but a little time spent on practice or research may increaase your enjoyment of the course. This course is suitable for beginners or those with a bit of experience who would like to go over some basics.

Entry requirements

You will need a set of watercolour paint, acrylic paints, brushes in a variety of sizes suitable for watercolour and acrylic paints, pencils, a sketchbook, rubber, scissors and masking tape. If you are unsure of what to buy, the tutor will go through this fully on the first day. Please bring somedrawing pencils, a rubber and an A4 sketchbook to the first class.
