Learn the skills of making stained glass and develop the designs to make a stained glass decorative panel. The course will teach the student the skills which are necessary to complete a piece of work to decorate the home. The skills will include setting out a design, cutting different types of glass to a precise shape, the use of lead and solder to create a panel of leaded glass. This is a partnership course delivered by Brenda Norrish of Kingfisher Glass. , , By the end of the course, you should be able to:, • Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines , • Demonstrate and understand relevant techniques ., • Demonstrate successful use of relevant tools, equipment and resources , • Use appropriate methods to collect ideas, research and experimentation , • Successfully review and evaluate your own work, • Research and evaluate the work of others to inform your own work and development , , There is no set 'homework', but you are welcome to practise and do further work at home., There is no qualification for this course., This course is a continuation course for those who have attended the 20 week course with Brenda, or for those with some experience of the craft. It is not suitable for beginners. It is important to note that craft courses are practical, requiring a degree of manual dexterity.
