Art History - Modern and Contemporary Art

You love going to Museums and Galleries and look at visual art, but never studied art history before? You would like to investigate a bit further? This course will give you a good basic grounding of art history. During the sessions you will explore the major art movements, looking at art through the ages, describing the context of the artists painters, sculptors and craftpeople from western and eastern past. You will gain a comprehensive and engaging overview of the major visual expressions fo art., By the end of the course students will be able to:, Demonstrate a knowledge of a selection of artists and movements, Recognise the distinct visual language of individual artists., Develop and justify their point of view, Take part in discussion with other students, , The absolute beginner is very welcome as well as those who have completed the first course Art History TWL/30257/D/LC. Different periods and artists will be studied from the previous course.
