Then we have the right course for you., After the turmoil and civil war of the late Roman republic, the first Roman emperors preside over a period of political stability, aggressive overseas expansion, growing wealth and an astonishing cultural flowering. The private lives of the emperors and those around them were a source of much gossip at the time, and have provided juicy material for modern authors, adapters and film makers, but our course will focus more on how the wider development of the Roman Empire. The period covers the Roman invasion of Britain and the early Christian period in the Eastern Mediterranean., , The course is for you if you have an interest in discovering aspects of the history and architecture of Tunbridge Wells and further Kent. Each of the History courses is a stand alone course and will study different parts for the local area, students are encouraged to come to several courses to embrace the variety of this subject.
