Painting as Expression

UPDATED 20160712 11:07:51

All students are welcome on this Art course but you must be interested in drawing and painting as Expression rather than the more tradition ways of painting. The course is loosely structured around drawing and painting from the life model, personal ideas and still life. You are also encouraged to gather your own materials as sources for drawing, painting and collage. You will be encouraged to view current exhibitions and look at other artists to help you with your work. Projects are developed through discovery and experimentation with guidance from the tutor. , By the end of the course you will be able to: , Produce a series of drawings from a starting point of your choice for a painting., Demonstrate the use of colour theories within your paintings. , Use a range of source images to develop your paintings., Research techniques from traditional and contemporary artists and demonstrate these within your own experimentation. , Aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines. These courses are not suitable for those new to art, instead promoting self directed learning at a higher level. , It is important to note that Art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another adult please ask to speak to the Programme Manager before you enrol.
