This course is ideal for anyone interested in learning how to design and decorate novelty cakes. To start with we will make a model teddy bear using the basic modelling techniques. We will then move on to designing and creating a novelty cake to a theme of your choice. You will have the opportunity to develop the modelling skills learnt in the first lesson to make a model(s) for your own personal novelty cake design., , At the end of the course you should be able to:, - make a model teddy bear, - demonstrate use of the basic modelling techniques, - design a novelty cake to a theme of your choice, - ice and decorate a novelty cake , - use all tools and equipment safely, , Please be aware that the items produced throughout this course are for educational purposes only, not for consumption., , There is limited parking on site, but there is a public car park nearby and on-street parking. This course is suitable for anyone interested in making novelty sugar models. Some previous experience of making simple models and working with modelling paste would be useful but is not essential.

Students will need to purchase their own icings and materials and provide their own cakes and equipment. Please do not buy anything especially for this course until you have checked with the canterbury Centre on 03000412222, about a week before the start, that the course is going ahead.
