This Mixed Media course is designed with the 2D artist in mind and the various mediums that can be incorporated into Art work. There will be between two and five projects each term that are introduced with clear instruction and demonstration with historical and contemporary references. Some projects will be realistic or representational and others using abstract or expressionism as a starting point. This course is comprehensive and sets out to be interesting and enjoyable with a supportive critique at the end of each project., By the end of the course the students should be able to:, Produce a small range of sample experiments combining media. , Complete two landscapes using cool and warm under paintings. , Use collage together with another media in a painting. , Paint a still life using a resist technique, Absolute beginners or those with a little experience. , It is important to note that Art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another adult please ask to speak to the Programme Manager before you enrol.

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, you should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound and a variety of pencils.You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements.
