Many people think the only way to practice yoga is on a mat but it doesn't matter how or where you do yoga. Yoga is about gently stretching and strengthening the body, improving breath function and awareness and, most importantly, bringing the mind to stillness and peace - all of which can be done working from a chair. Seated yoga is a very adaptable form of yoga, growing in popularity because it is a quick and effective way to bring a sense of balance to body and mind, whatever your level of flexibility., , Techniques of stretching and strengthening, breath control, relaxation and meditation will be covered. Students will learn how to increase awareness of their body and mind through the physical exercises and the mind-body connection, which is the hallmark of yoga. , , By the end of the course, students should be able to:, perform a sequence, perform breathing practice, perform a relaxation or meditation technique to relieve tension and calm the mind.
