Students at all levels are welcome to join this Yoga course in Tunbridge Wells where beginners will learn basic postures and those with some experience will develop their practise of basic yoga postures, breathing and relaxation techniques. Your tutor will explain the benefits and how you can apply them to your daily life. You will be advised to practise regularly at home., , By the end of this course you should be able to:, • Demonstrate and hold a variety of postures using correct alignment, • Practise control of breath to assist relaxation and stamina, • Identify the benefits of Yoga practice, • Link a number of postures to perform a flowing sequence, , You will need to be able to follow verbal instructions, observe and copy physical movements and use spatial awareness within a group. Although there is no specific work set outside of the class, students will gain most benefit if exercises are performed regularly and practised between classes.,

Entry requirements

You will need supportive, comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement. Denim jeans, formal trousers, skirts or dress are not suitable for this activity. You should wear shoes with a soft sole. Sandals, boots or any footwear with a high heel are not recommended. You may be advised not to take part if you are not dressed appropriately. , , Students may wish to bring their own mat to work on and a towel.
