This introductory course is for anyone who is considering a career teaching in further education or the training skills sector. On the course, you will study and practice basic teaching theories and methods. You will learn about teaching and learning approaches to support the different needs of students and groups, and you will learn how to assess students' learning. You will understand responsibilities and relationships in education and training, in relation to legislation, equality, diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of learners. You will plan and deliver a short 'micro-teach' of 20 minutes to the rest of the group. You will be required to produce short written assignments on all the aspects of teaching that you have studied. You can expect good support from your tutors and mentors to help complete your written tasks. Successful completion will require you to study and produce work outside the course sessions. This course is aimed at people who:* Would like an introduction to teaching* Are looking for career progression into teaching or training within their area of work* Want to progress towards ATLS (Association Teacher Learning and Skills) and/or QTLS
