The aim of this course is to advance students from only being able to use their cameras on automatic to giving them the knowledge and ability to begin using cameras to their full potential. Students will download images and be tutored through the basic functions of Photoshop Elements. Students should finish the course with the confidence and understanding of how best to use their camera to produce images that are more than just snapshots. Please note:- If you are storing any data/images on transferrable data devices (memory sticks, portable hard drives, etc), please make sure that you have back-up files saved at home and when removing devices have followed the 'safely removing hardware' guidelines on the PC., , For beginners and those with a little experience, who have their own digital SLR camera (or compact camera with some manual functions, e.g. aperture and shutter controls) and would like to be able to use it more confidently. The course will also allow you ro develop your skills at the end by undertaking a photo project.

Compact cameras, DSLR ( Digital Single Lens Reflexes) and Prosumer/Bridge Cameras ( e.g. Lumix G2) can all be suitable for this course. Please note that some cameras are more suited to particular conditions or type of photo e.g. family shots, scenes, fast action than others. Please bring any other relevant materials and equipment that you have e.g. camera to computer download cable, camera handbook, USB stick if you have one. and have a fully charged battery in your camera.
