UPDATED 20160712 11:02:03

The benefits of walking in improving mental and physical well-being are well documented. Apart from the social aspect of walking and talking with others, there are the benefits of being out in the greenness of nature. This has been claimed to lower blood pressure and improve serotonin levels.Even moderate amounts of walking done on a regular basis can be beneficial to health. , On this short walk of about one and a half miles we will stroll round the parkland of Tonbridge which if flat and largely on hard surfaces. We will be able to explore the area and perhaps learn a little about it. The walk will be taken at a pace appropriate to the group and would be suitable for those recovering from illness, those with mental health issues and those hoping to build up slowly to doing longer walks.Walking is an excellent way of forgetting your troubles and meeting new people.
