Glass Fusing - Improvers

A chance to enhance your glass fusing skills in Tonbridge. You will be encouraged to build on your existing fused glass skills base in both design and technique to develop an improved understanding of fusing and design principles, and the ability to undertake a more complex project. Project work will be discussed on an individual basis and should show; design ideas, techniques and processes used, recording the range of samples and experiments, investigations into methods to finish and present work. Students will be brought together on a variety of topics determined by student work., Beginners and those with some experience. may join. You will need to: , Understand the potential benefit from the programme of study; Read and interpret tasks; Communicate responses that are clear, logical and understandable; Manage your own time; Undertake critical reflection and evaluation; and be motivated to develop creative skills and enhance and evelop personal skills. A degree of manual dexterity is required.

Entry requirements

Design ideas, drawing equipment, glass cutter and glass of choice., Essential tools include a glass cutter and grazing pliers. Glass is dependent on the project undertaken. The cost of the course does not include materials and some basic tools. Details and the cost of glass and tools will be discussed at the beginning of the course. Please do not buy books and equipment before you start. If equipment and materials are required for this course you should not buy them before the first class unless advised other wise, or you are sure that the course is running., Health and Safety:, You must wear closed toe shoes, All masks, gloves and ear defenders will be supplied if necessary, No drinks are allowed in the studio because of the possible risks of contamination.
