UPDATED 20160712 10:59:58

This beginners course investigates various approaches to Life Drawing. Lessons will usually take the form of a mixture of short drawing exercises (to practice a variety of drawing strategies), some brief discussions about artists' drawings (to consider other approaches to drawing and to provide a broader context for individual practice) and longer drawings for individually-focussed teaching. This is a great introduction to form, line work, perspective and a range of other key skills., , , , The course is held in an art room which used to be 'the life room' in the days when this wonderful Art Deco-style building was an art college (from the 1930s until the 1960s). It is fully equipped with various sized drawing boards, easels, trestles and 'donkeys' to allow students to draw at a standing position or sitting. Art materials can be purchased at the class. , Absolute beginners or those with a little experience. It is important to note that art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity for you to participate fully and get the most out of the course.
