This is a low to medium impact cardio class, using resistance equipment to tone and sculpt your body., , , Students will be told the health benefits of cardiovascular and muscular strength and endurance training, performance technique, basic equipment safety and movement to music. On successful completion of this course students will be able to identify specific exercises for personal use outside of the class. Participants must complete a health questionnaire before the start of the course. , , , By the end of this course you should be able to:, - Use basic resistance equipment safely and be aware of Health and Safety practise., - Perform muscle, strength and endurance exercises, - Locate muscle groups, - Practise cardio moves, - Exercise independently to music with minimal guidance, - Recount at least three ways in which exercises can benefit health and wellbeing, Anyone interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The course has been designed for anyone over the age of 55 who would like to improve their fitness and health and enjoys group exercise classes. You will need supportive, comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement. Denim jeans, formal trousers, skirts or dress are not suitable for this activity. You should wear shoes with a soft sole. Sandals, boots or any footwear with a high heel are not recommended. You may be advised not to take part if you are not dressed appropriately. Students may need to bring a mat to work on and might wish to bring a towel, your tutor will advise after the first session.
