Course content includes: working effectively and safely, principles of electrotechnology and application of health and safety and electrical principles. Extensive practical tasks are also included to combine electro-technical knowledge with electrical installation practice for the buildings and structures option of the qualification.

Candidates who achieve credits/distinctions at level 2 can progress to the City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 qualification in Electrotechnology, after two years of study. Attendance is for two evenings per week between 6 and 9 pm. You will need a scientific calculator with an engineering button (i.e. Casio fx-83MS), drawing instruments and protective footwear and overalls for workshop sessions. Assessment is by way of four on-line examinations and two practical tasks.
