Because organisational pressures often make it difficult to be away from the workplace, our bite-size training workshops are designed to provide short, intensive yet practical sessions that require you to only be away from your business or job role for a short period of time.This Workshop introduces some of the challenges and methods of note taking, the reasons for minutes and the implication to the minute taker including the relationship between the chair and the minute taker. Please note, due to the time constraints, this is a generic course and provides the techniques to take away with you for application in your own workplace practices.This workshop covers: The purpose of meetings The value of good meeting minutes The role of the Chairperson The role of the Minute takerYou will: Develop skills in writing effective minutes Develop skills in effective listening skills Develop a step by step approach to the minute taking process including before, during and after. This course is aimed at anyone with writing skills at Level 1 who is new to the role of taking minutes. More experienced minute takers, who have not had any formal training, may also find this course of benefit.This workshop is also perfect for new business owners or for people considering starting their own business. Other courses may be offered by Skills & Learning or other local providers.
