In your first year, you will have the chance to lay the foundations of your scientific practical skills and techniques. It will include more Chemistry investigations than the other two disciplines, while the second year will focus more on Biological techniques. You will work to complete written assignments and practical investigations to complete a total of 18 units across the two year programme. The core units of study are listed below: - Fundamentals of Science - Working in the Science Industry - Scientific Investigations - Scientific Practical Techniques - Perceptions of Science - Using Mathematical Tools in Science Additional units will be handpicked by the lecturing staff to provide you with a broader understanding of the Physics, Chemistry and Biology. If you have not yet achieved a grade C (or above) in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions (if you achieved grade D) or functional skills sessions (if you achieved grade E or below).
