Engineering Intermediate Apprenticeship

The Intermediate certificate is made up of both a PEO and VRQ qualification. There are six units to complete for the PEO and six matching units for the VRQ. For the VRQ there are three units which are common core and three units that are skills-specific to the Fabrication and welding, Electrical / Mechanical, Mechanical Production, Electronic or Engineering Maintenance Industries. Assessments will be one external exam plus programmes assessments, either multiple choice or short answer questions. Practical elements are tested through skills tests in the College workshop. The Performing Engineering Operations qualification will cover six units which will be assessed through observation of practical skills.
