This course prepares you with skills and knowledge in a variety of topics that will prepare you for the next level of education or a job in the Engineering Sector. You will need to be prepared to attend college 6 hours per week as well as work through the e-Learning material remotely. Examples of units (*subject to change) you will study are: Working safely in an engineering environment . Carrying out engineering activities efficiently and effectively. Using and communicating technical information. Making components using hand tools and fitting techniques. Preparing and using manual oxy/fuel gas welding equipment *. Preparing and using semi-automatic MIG, MAG and flux cored arc welding equipment *. Development of Maths and English. The College also supports and encourages the development of your core Maths and English skills which will be improved through the programme, but for those looking to develop further it is possible to undertake additional programmes and gain additional Maths and English qualifications.
