The Access to Health Care Professions course is for adults who have limited academic qualifications, but who would like to progress on to a degree course or on to professional training. The course is studied full-time over one academic year and includes a number of subjects necessary for successful completion of the Diploma and entry to higher level study in Nursing, Midwifery, ODP, Speech Therapy, physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and other health professions. The Access to Health Care Professions course curriculum includes the academic subjects and study skills sessions necessary for successful progression onto professional education and training at University. The modules of study include; Cell Biology, Inheritance and Genetic Engineering, Reproduction, Psychology as a Science, Independent Study Skills.

A programme of exam practice is also included to help students feel better prepared.
