This course is aimed at people who are reasonably new to computers and only have basic knowledge. It is aimed specifically for learners who are unemployed and who need to improve their computer skills. It aims to develop learners' practical skills in using common software and build confidence in the use of ICT. Learners will be encouraged to use their new skills to search for employment throughout the course.
Name: First steps in computing - Award in ICT Qualification title: Award in Using ICT (Entry 3) (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment As learner knowledge and confidence grows the course tutor will assign exercises and tasks which will allow learners to work independently and practice new skills – although your tutor will always be on hand to support and give help, guidance and feedback relating to progress and achievement. The course tutor will ensure all learners are aware of personal progress throughout the course. During the course learners will submit examples of their own work for each unit which will be submitted to OCR for certification. This is a qualification course and as such learners who meet the required standard will achieve the nationally recognised qualification OCR Entry Level Award in Using ICT (Entry 3).
