This short 5 session course would be ideal for new learners, or as a complement to existing Clothesmaking courses, and is designed to introduce you to sewing with jersey fabrics. You will learn the correct way to cut out and handle stretch knit fabrics and various techniques used to stitch and stabilise stretch fabrics whilst making your stretch knit dress.

You will need to bring along your own Basic Sewing Kit to include dressmaking pins, needles, a tape measure and fabric cutting out scissors. Please do not bring your own overlocker machine, as we cannot accommodate them for Health & Safety reasons. You will have the opportunity to discuss your fabric and commercial dress pattern choices with the tutor during the first session, and these must be purchased and brought in to the second session.
