Floristry - wedding & special occasion designs - beginners

This beginners' level course will introduce you to a range of floral designs suitable for weddings and other special occasions such as parties and events-including how to make buttonholes and corsages, bouquets, pomanders, and table decorations. It will cover the selection of fresh plant materials, conditioning methods, the use of a range of florist's sundries and materials and traditional and contemporary construction techniques including wiring, hand tying and using florist's foam.

Entry requirements

You will need to bring your own flowers & foliage for each session, in addition to some items of florist's materials that may not be covered by the basic fee. The approximate cost will be £10-£15 per week. You will also need a pair of strong scissors with sharp blades. All materials will either be discussed during the first session of the course, or you will be contacted in advance with a materials requirements list for the first session.
