You will learn how to demonstrate poses confidently and correctly. You will learn how to strengthen your balance and maintain your posture. Iyengar Yoga is suitable for all ages. Yoga is a process of self-development that engages body, mind and breath. Regular practice can improve suppleness, strength and stamina and have a dramatic effect on posture. The Iyengar approach emphasizes the importance of working with precision in the practice of the poses. The practice is progressive building a stable foundation before attempting more demanding work. The aim of this particular course is to help you establish sound and meaningful practice, so that you can steadily work towards a calmer state of mind. The course is mixed ability; so suitable for those who wish to refresh their understanding of the Iyengar method and those with experience of other styles of yoga who would like to experience this approach.

You can bring something to drink before and after class, but drinks shouldn't be taken during classes. Don't eat for some time before your session is due to start. Whilst the college holds a stock of yoga mats, it's a good idea to invest in your own for hygiene reasons (and so that you can practise at home Please do not purchase anything before your first session unless requested to do so.
