The course is also suitable for anyone who wishes to progress to further or higher education in their chosen field, or who wishes to gain a basic understanding of process maintenance theory and practice. 18 units and an I.V.A are required for the Diploma - 9 per year. 6 Core Units comprise: Business Systems for Technicians; Communications for Technicians; Science for Technician; Mathematics for Technicians; Operations & Maintenance Procedures & Techniques; Project. 12 Specialist Units from the following: Monitoring & Fault Diagnosis; Health, Safety & Welfare; Mechanical Technology; Mechanical Principles; Electrical Technology; Engineering Materials; Electro, Pneumatics & Hydraulic Systems; Plant Services & Operation; Engineering, Drawing & CAD; Fluid Mechanics; Processing & Engineering Workshop Practice; Materials Handling; Plus other optional units.
