Subsidiary Diploma in Sports Studies - VTCT - Level 3

This Study Programme provides an insight into a number of specialised areas of sport, specifically focusing upon developing an understanding of sports development, coaching and fitness. It will include English and Maths and participation in enterprising projects that will develop employability skills such as leading sports activities across College and to local primary Schools. This Programme allows you to develop industry specific skills, knowledge and competencies. You will study mandatory units such as Anatomy & Physiology, Sports Development and Coaching. You will also study a wide range of specialist units such as Organising Sports Events, Sport as a Business, Current Issues or Sports Psychology. All units are delivered by subject specialists using relevant and realistic employment situational environments. You can also extend your learning portfolio by completing additional qualifications in Sports Leadership, National Governing Body Coaching Awards, First Aid or officiating qualifications. Relevant trips and the chance to take part in relevant residential activities are also available.
