UPDATED 20160627 16:39:30

This Programme is divided into five sections: Study Skills: Develop skills including essay writing, presentation and communication, and working within a team. You will be supported through the process of applying via UCAS and achieve academic credits. Health Studies: From Child development to Human Anatomy, you will develop academic knowledge in the field of health studies. This will be enhanced by an individual health-based project to develop your health and fitness level to meet minimum standards set by NHS and other governmental organisations. Social Care and Medical Studies: Gain practical experience within the field of social and medical care. Integrated Science: The equivalent of a GCSE in Science, you will study a number of Biology, Chemistry and Physics related topics, giving a thorough insight into the world of medical science. Students who do not have GCSE English or Maths at Grade C or above and require these qualifications to go onto HE, will need to have these prior to starting the Access course. If students do not need English and/or Maths to go onto their preferred HE programme will still be considered at Interview. Students can study their English and Maths with the Pre Access programme in preparation for the Access course if desired on a part time basis. Psychology: You will gain an insight into the drives and processes behind human interactions and its related issues. Discover the pitfalls of blind authority and the developmental processes that make up individual personalities, whilst gaining knowledge of mental health practice and an understanding of the issues surrounding it.
