Engineering and Technology Advanced - Mechanical and Electronic - Level 3

You'll learn practical skills needed within the Engineering environment with a focus on electronic and mechanical disciplines. Units covered will include: Engineering and Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering Organisational Efficiency and Improvement, Computer Numerical Control, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Maintenance of Pneumatic Systems and Components, Engineering Science, Digital Electronics and Advanced Milling. Our fully fitted workshops are equipped with up to date technology replicating industry allowing us to provide hands on practical experience within the Engineering sector; this combined with professional industry trained teaching staff ensures high success rates and multiple progression routes. As a Level 3 Engineering student at East Kent College you will benefit from an affiliated associate membership with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). You can look forward to the opportunity to take part in inter-college skills competitions at local and national level and the chance of work experience with leading community partners such as Cummins and Emco Wheaton. This week will support the development of skills towards employability and suitability to progress onto the next level of study.
