This is a one year full time course for those who enjoy being creative, working with people and have an interest in a career in the hair industry. The Level 3 Diploma is suitable for you if you have previous hairdressing experience and can demonstrate a good standard of skills, or perhaps you have previously completed the Level 2 Diploma. The Level 3 course builds on the skills and techniques developed at Level 2 and will provide you with a more in-depth knowledge in this industry. You will learn through hands-on interactive classes and also develop your theory knowledge through a range of assignments. Students will develop skills in; Bridal Hair, Colour Techniques, Hair Extensions, The Consultation Process, Cutting Techniques, Gents Cutting and Facial Hair and Styling and Dressing Long Hair. You will be expected to spend 16 hours at College, including one evening. You will also be required to work one day a week in a real salon where you will have the chance to practice reception duty, health and safety as well as working with real clients. Hairdressing students have the chance to take part in the cross college competition where you will compete against other students to showcase your artistic style and design talent. There is also an inter college competition where you will have the opportunity to compete against other colleges in Cumbria. Specialist industry professionals regularly come into college to talk to students about different careers and give advice to those wanting to follow a similar career path.
