Customise Your Clothes - Teens

Max. 1 teen (11+) per adult. Explore a number of ways, both practical and creative, to alter and adapt existing garments, including shortening, lengthening, embellishing, combining, restyling and reinventing. We will also work with ideas for creating accessories using textiles and yarn.

Entry requirements

Please bring along one or more items of clothing you wish to customise (such as a shirt, blouse, dress, trousers, jacket, sweater, cardigan, T-shirt or hat). Tools and materials (such as scissors, needles, threads, fabrics, yarns and trimmings) will be provided. The tutor will also have a range of books and magazines available for reference. Though materials are provided for this course, you may wish to bring any or all of the following: 1.A basic sewing kit (needles, thread, scissors etc.) 2.Your own decorations and embellishments (such as buttons, ribbons, sequins, beads and embroidery threads) 3.Cuttings from fashion magazines, or pictures printed from the internet, for inspiration 4.A notebook or sketchbook and a pencil or pen Equipment required Please bring along one or more items of clothing you wish to customise (such as a shirt, blouse, dress, trousers, jacket, sweater, cardigan, T-shirt or hat).
