The second year of a two year part-time course leading to the Diploma in Education and Training (previously DTLLS/Cert. Ed.). The Learning Centre Bexley delivers the DET qualification as part of a consortium with Canterbury Christ Church University which was rated Ofsted Outstanding in the 2014 Ofsted inspection. The course is an in-service modular programme leading to an initial teaching qualification for those teaching in the lifelong learning sector. It is a flexible modular programme that has been designed to meet the needs of teachers in further education, adult and community education, tutors involved in training in a range of external agencies, public and private, and the increasing number of teachers in the wider workforce delivering 14-19 education. The 2nd year of this programme comprises as follows:- Module 4 - Professional Development Module 5 - Curriculum Studies Module 6 - Professional Investigation This year consist of three modules which are studied at HE Level 2 (NQF Level 5). It is also possible for those who already have a first degree to study the modules at HE Level 3 (NQF Level 6) for the second year in order to gain a PGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education).
