Woodcarving: All Abilities

Beginners will carve a flower finished with a combination of oil and wax. Intermediate students work on their own individual projects which can be in relief, in the round or lettering in lime, walnut, oak or pear. Advanced students will design their own piece to carve.

Entry requirements

1. Pencil. 2. All tools provided. 3. Bring any gouges you already own but do not buy any if you are unsure. 4. A cheap set will be a waste of money. For inspiration have a look at "Nature Transformed. Wood Art from the Bohlen Collection". ISBN 1-930561-08-3 (Tutor will bring in his copy). "Essential woodcarving Techniques" Dick Onians.
