Create a beautiful personalised Christmas gift. The beauty of book art is its simplicity. The image is made by simply folding the two corners of each page, no cutting, gluing, or special equipment needed.
Name: Christmas Book Art Qualification title: Non regulated Community Learning provision, Crafts, Creative Arts and Design Qualification type: Assessment The tutor will demonstrate how to make a template for your deign that will fit your book and show you how to score and fold pages so that a 3D image is produced. You will then have time to complete one simple design in a book. Students will then learn how to make a template for a more complex design and begin folding this. You can bring a selection of hardback books to class if you particularly like their title or colour of their cover pages but books will be available to choose from in class. If you do bring books please ensure they are a minimum of 300 pages long and matt paper folds much easier than gloss. Each student will be given graph paper, ruler, scissors and craft knife to work with. Letter templates are available and we often use iPads to download images or fonts.
