Floristry: Level 2 Certificate - City & Guilds

This is a highly commerical course designed to give you the skills you need to become a retail florist. Covering 5 units, one of which requires a 40 hour work placement. You will learn all aspects of floristry including arrangements, hand-ties, wedding, funeral designs, function décor and display. You will also learn essential business, customer service and retail skills. Assessments are completed in the class with homework assignments and a portfolio of evidence. Students are required to provide all their own equipment and materials. The cost will vary according to the project, but will be approximately £10-£20 per session.

Name: Floristry: Level 2 Certificate - City & Guilds Qualification title: Certificate in Floristry (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment This is a practical class so lots of hands-on experience practising the various wiring, taping and assembly techniques. The tutor will demonstrate practical pieces, then you will practice before doing an assessment. Notes will be expected to be taken during theory sessions. The set projects to be done in class will be supported by individual guidance and advice as required. Learners are expected to do a minimum of two hours homework each week, plus spend time doing research on projects. Learners will need to complete homework: detailed write-up on classroom practical projects, collating floristry resources, a small amount of independent research each week, assembling scrapbook of floral designs, occasional question sheets and the record keeping of classroom assessments. Individual assessment of learner's work. Individual tutorials as required. Portfolios and practical work will be assessed as to the level of achievement reached.
