"Year 1 You'll be encouraged to experiment with writing in as many ways as you can. You'll use the works of other writers as a stimulus for your own pieces. You'll be encouraged to experiment, and you'll have extensive experience of sharing your work with other students and your teacher and receiving feedback from them. Some genres you may cover include journalism, poetry, personal memoir, travel writing, blogs, scripts and pitches. Year 2 Your study and practice of writing will continue, as you explore more complex forms and more challenging writing tasks. Your analytical skills will develop, backed by extensive reading."
