If you are looking to work as a gym or fitness instructor then this is an ideal course for you. As part of the course you will receive a YMCA qualification at Level 2 in Health, Fitness and Exercise Instruction, which is the requirement for staff working in gyms and fitness clubs, so that you'll be prepared to go straight into employment. Alternatively you can progress to qualifications for other areas within the health and fitness or active leisure sectors. As well as a core of mandatory topics which give you the underpinning knowledge, you will be able to specialise in instructing one of the following: • Gym-based exercise • Exercise to music • Circuit training • Indoor cycling
