The Access to Higher Education course provides you with an ideal way to develop the skills necessary to progress to university whilst studying subjects that are relevant to your chosen degree programme. Students without recent education experience normally take the Pre-Access programme in order develop skills in literacy and numeracy. This enables you to develop confidence in your ability to study at a higher level. Successful completion of the course will provide you with a nationally recognised qualification that is an alternative to A Levels. The course will focus on a range of core and specialist units which will be delivered through taught sessions, the Virtual Learning Environment and e-tutorials. Core units include Psychology, Sociology and Social Policy with learners selecting one specialist subject from Law Business, Social Work or Humanities.
