Learners will have the opportunity to undertake a ‘portfolio’ of skills and qualifications. Health and safety Information, quantity and communication with others Building methods & construction technology Store resources ready for use Erect & dismantle working platforms Contribute to efficient working practices Provide temporary protection to work areas Prepare surfaces for the application of decorative/protective finishes Apply paint systems by brush and roller Apply wall coverings to non complex locations Produce decorative specialist paint finishes – basic The programme is mainly practical based, although you will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence including assignments and written evidence from activities carried out on site. You will normally work through mandatory units, this is the work you must do and optional units tailored to suit your job. In addition to the practical tasks of the apprenticeship you will also need to complete a technical theory element. This covers your knowledge and understanding of your job role and the industry you are working in.
