You will study six units that will provide an overview of the care industries and enable you to gain a good working knowledge and understanding of the various roles within the sector. You will work to generate evidence for a personal and professional portfolio that will demonstrate your development over the duration of the course. Throughout the course you will study the following: - Developing Effective Communication in Health and Social Care - Equality, Diversity and Rights in Health and Social Care - Health, Safety and Security in Health and Social Care There will also be three additional units that will be handpicked by the lecturing staff to provide you with a broader understanding of the industry. If you have not yet achieved a grade C (or above) in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions (if you achieved grade D) or functional skills sessions (if you achieved grade E or below).
