This is a broad-based, practical degree for people who enjoy making objects or designing spaces. The course aims to cover the following: - Product Design - Furniture Design - Jewellery Design - Glass - Ceramics - Interior Design - Constructed Textiles. You will also examine the theory of design and the whole course is underpinned by research. The course aims to reflect the individual students interests and strengths, so in the second year, you have the opportunity to specialise and develop the software and business skills needed to work as a professional. During this year you are encouraged to undertake design commissions, design shows and work placements. In the third year, you will focus on creating a significant body of work, based around your self-written proposal. Underpinned by your Contextual Report, this major project will culminate in your graduate exhibition.
