You will develop your skills through practical workshops whilst you study the theoretical elements of the industry to broaden your understanding. You will study the following core units: - Health and Safety in the Engineering Workplace Plus - Mechanical Principles and Applications or - Electrical and Electronic Principles Alongside the core units, you will also study 5 additional units that have been chosen by the staff to provide a deeper understanding of the engineering industry. These units may include: - Mathematics for Engineering Technicians - Business operation - Principles and Applications of Electronic Devices and Circuits - Electronic Measurement and Testing - Construction and Applications of Digital Systems - Features and Applications of Electrical Machines It should be noted that there is a wide use of mathematics throughout this Engineering course. If you have not yet achieved a grade C (or above) in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions (if you achieved grade D) or functional skills sessions (if you achieved grade E or below).
