1 Year or 2 Years One session per week afternoon and evening over two years or two sessions per week for one year This qualification is for people who aim to become professional practitioners with a qualification valued by employers in the teaching and community arts professions. With a flexible theatre space which will be used for performances at the end of every term, a fully equipped dance studio for rehearsal and delivery of physical units, TV and radio studios the campus offers a flexible working space for students. Employer links include Peer Productions, The Harlington, Fleet, Princes Hall, Aldershot and The Maltings, Farnham. This HNC is a new initiative designed for those returning to education after a break or continuing level 3 students who do not wish to commit to a full three year University course and who would like to improve their practical/theoretical skills before embarking on a career. The HNC will be staffed by our excellent team of Performing Arts tutors: Helen Buick a dance specialist with commercial experience and working in the industry, Annelies Lovell who has worked in TV and theatre at the highest level, Danni Stembridge a singing specialist, still working in the industry, Ruth Torr M.A. formerly at Middlesex University and Sian Watkins Theatre in Education and alternative acting specialist. The Certificate will be delivered over a long academic year 36 weeks of Wednesday afternoons and evenings. Six units will be covered over three terms and one delivered as an intensive summer school in July 14th to 18th July for 2014. The remaining unit is a research unit where students are supported in their investigation of a performing arts related topic of their choice. Subjects covered Modules include: Dance Practices in the Community Theatre in Education Site Specific Performance Managing a Creative Business Innovative Theatre Performance Work Development of Acting Skills
