The Education sector will require increasing numbers of staff who can appreciate the implications of the many far reaching developments within the sector. The BA meets this need, by building on work done in the Foundation Degree in Education Lifelong Learning, the Foundation Degree in Learning Support and the Foundation Degree in Early Years Education. It provides an opportunity for colleagues in the education sector to gain the benefits of a degree based on study of direct relevance to their work and career. BA candidates will be given opportunities to acquire intellectual skills such as the use of evidence in developing and supporting argument, the ability to evaluate evidence from primary and secondary sources and the application of theory to a practical context. Subjects covered Students on this BA top-up year will study 5 modules 4 at 20 credit points, 1 at 40 credit points 1. Introduction to Research 2. Learning Theory 3. Social Context of Education 4. Comparative Education 5. Research Project Attendance: Thursday 1800 -2100 Candidates will be assessed on the basis of written assignments for each module and the submission of a completed research project.
